This foundation repair customer from Victoria, TX had several large trees that were located too close to his home. The trees plus the hot, dry weather in the summer were withdrawing so much water that the expansive soils under the front of the house shrunk and lost contact with the bottom of the foundation. Subsequently, the weight of the home was greater than the lateral strength of the concrete slab foundation and the foundation collapsed to meet the support of the shrunken soil.
